Shimla MFD Vikrant Katoch of RupeeXpress has climbed over 20,000 feet (6100 meters) to hoist a flag carrying a message, ‘Mutual Funds Sahi Hai’. This is the second time that he climbed such a high altitude to hoist the flag. In the first such trek, he climbed 16,000 feet in 2020.

Talking to Cafemutual Vikrant said, “I am a big admirer of ‘Mutual Funds Sahi Hai Campaign’ as it has helped MFDs like me to reach out to masses. Today, even in small town like Shimla, many people have heard about mutual funds. Hence, I wanted to pay a tribute to this campaign and what is better way than doing it at 6100 meters.”

Vikrant believes that investing in mutual funds is like climbing a mountain. “Both MF investing and mountain climbing require patience. When you reach 5000 meters, you will have to stay there for at least 2 days doing nothing. You simply need to adapt to the situation before moving ahead. Similarly, investing in mutual funds requires investors to stay put and do nothing to create meaningful wealth.”

The Shimla MFD climbed Deo Tibba Mountain range, which is situated in Kulu. It is part of Himalayan Mountain range. Deo Tibba is one of toughest mountain terrains. In fact, only 3 teams manage to make it to its altitude in a year, said Vikrant.

Overall, Vikrant along with 4 of his friends took 8 days to reach the altitude and 2 days to come back to base camp. Vikrant said, “While it was indeed a difficult terrain, I was happy to see ‘Mutual Funds Sahi Hai’ at such a high altitude.”

RupeeExpress caters to over 1000 clients with assets of Rs.132 crore in mutual funds. Team Cafemutual salutes the spirit of this MFD and wishes him all the success.
