With a belief of giving back to the society, MFD Shalab Gupta Bibhab of Bibhab Capital conducts monthly bhandara at various temples in Agra. Interestingly, a few MF officials and clients participate in these bhandaras as volunteers.

Talking about this initiative, Shalab said that he buys 500 kgs atta, 10 tins of ghee, 2 tins of refined oil and gives money for buying potatoes and masalas to the cook. He said, “I know the Maharaj in person and he looks after the kitchen each time. We give utmost importance to hygiene and maintain high-quality standards. Also, keeping in mind the comfort of people, we serve puri bhaji in dona, which is easy to hold.”

Shalab told Cafemutual that he invites his clients and MF officials to be a part of this social cause. In fact, the clients and MF officials bring along their colleagues and families. From overseeing the overall arrangement to serving food, they all volunteer turn-by-turn, said Shalab. Interestingly, Shalab has created a separate WhatsApp group comprising clients and fund house employees who regularly volunteer for the bhandara.

So far, Shalab has organised 15 bhandaras at different temples. He spends Rs 1.75 lakh every month from his personal account.
