Bengaluru RIA Mimi Partha Sarathy of Sinhasi Consultants recently conducted a conference to protect wildlife and nature and prevent climate change. The event, Sinhasi Social Impact Initiative Conference was held at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru on August 2, 2023.
Themed ‘Social Investments for Wildlife, Nature and Climate Change’, the conference hosted over 15 sustainability and environmental speakers from not only India but also overseas.
Mimi looks at the conference as a contribution to the legacy of her late father M A Partha Sarathy who was a wildlife and nature enthusiast. She said, “What just started as a casual conversation with my mother to celebrate my father’s 100th birthday turned out into this novel idea.”
The conference aimed at connecting NGOs and environmentalists to philanthropic and CSR communities. It also aimed to contribute to investors’ 360-degree life plans by aligning personal financial aspirations with their portfolios and social investments.
Over 500 people including international and Indian wildlife conservation stalwarts, ecologists, biologists, herpetologists, academicians, and government officials attended the conference. Investors, CSR representatives and research students were also present.
“Every part of the world is suffering due to environmental degradation and we as humans are solely responsible for it. If we are the creators of the problem, well it is time for us to stop, take notice and provide solutions to ensure a better earth for ourselves and future generations” said Mimi.
