The new strain of coronavirus has been affecting lungs and patients need oxygen support to survive the battle against the virus.
However, with rising covid cases, the demand-supply equilibrium of oxygen has been disturbed. Timely availability of oxygen is crucial but people have been facing difficulties in procuring oxygen.
Empathising with the current situation, Rajesh Sodhani of Sodhani Investments ordered two oxygen concentrators to help people in need.
Rajesh had recently tested positive for covid-19. However, he maintained his positivity along with his zeal to help others. On the second day of his quarantine, he ordered two oxygen concentrators which arrived at his office in a couple of days. And for the past five days, the concentrators are being provided to people seeking them.
Today being May 7, 2021, Rajesh is on the eleventh day of his quarantine but he has ensured a seamless execution of the noble activity. He coordinates with his team which comprises his daughter, nephew and an office member who actively manage the logistics.
The price of each concentrator is Rs. 75,000 which Rajesh funded through his personal account. He has already placed an order for three more of these.
People in need contact Rajesh or his team and collect the concentrator from his office depending on its availability. They urge for a medical prescription and/or some local reference before handing over the concentrator. It is lent free of cost against a deposit of Rs. 3000 for three days. The deposit is fully refundable and may even be waived off on case-to-case basis. All these measures are taken to ensure that the concentrators reach genuine people.
Further, for the past few years, Rajesh has been supplying 100 meals every week for the family members of underprivileged who are hospitalised in a nearby hospital.
Rajesh believes that the society gives ample opportunities to earn and make a living. Everybody must earmark a share of what they earn for serving the society. The fees that Rajesh receives from conducting online seminars are kept aside by him for helping the needy.
