Bhopal MFD Munnavar Khan of Vision Advisory Services has distributed blankets and jackets to homeless people.
“It was heartbreaking to see homeless people resort to paper and plastic to protect themselves from the cold”, said Munnavar.
Munnavar roamed across the cold streets of Bhopal to identify the spots where the homeless slept. He set aside a part of his salary and approached like-minded people for procuring blankets from a wholesale dealer.
Over the last 15 days, after a long day’s work, Munnavar and his wife along with other volunteers have been distributing blankets between 11 pm to 2 am. Until today, they have distributed over 700 blankets. Additionally, they have also donated 100 jackets to children from economically poor backgrounds.
Munnavar is a known face when it comes to social service. He undertakes various initiatives through his social organisation - KGN Bhopal Social Group.
He recently had an opportunity to meet the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan where he participated in a sapling plantation drive at Bhopal’s Smart Park. The Chief Minister showered praises on Munnavar and other volunteers for their selfless service during the pandemic.
