Pune MFD conducts a women-oriented SIP drive

Santosh Pardeshi conducts his first drive and pledges to donate 5% of the total SIPs booked to a women’s welfare fund.

Pune MFD Santosh Pardeshi of Money Lancer recently executed his first SIP drive. Sharing the inspiration behind the drive, he said, “Success stories covered on Cafemutual’s website encouraged me to plan and execute my first SIP drive.”

While talking to Cafemutual, Santosh touched upon the key facets that made his drive successful.

    Conceptualisation

Attaching a purpose to a drive makes it more meaningful, and makes it easier for investors to connect. This is why we thought of executing a theme-based drive. And, as we celebrate International Women’s Day on Mar 8, 2022, we conceptualised a women-oriented drive.

Further, it focused on the well-being of not only the participating ladies but also the women community at large. We decided to donate 5% of the total SIP booked to a Women’s Welfare Fund.

    Preparation

The drive attempted to reach out to as many women investors as possible. We started by making a list of existing women clients and spoke to them for references of other women.  This gave us the database of women prospects for the drive.

A clear bifurcation of roles and responsibilities makes the execution simple. I looked into the overall execution of the drive, my son handled client meetings and my team member took care of back-end operations.

    The Pitch

We reached out to a mix of working as well as non-working women. The pitch was simple and direct in the case of working women. However, in the case of non-working women, we spent some more time explaining mutual funds from the very basic. Short informative videos came in handy here.

Additionally, we also highlighted comparative return analysis between mutual funds and traditional investment avenues.

    Final Outcome

27 women investors, including 13 homemakers invested in this drive. Additionally, some of our male clients also took part in the drive.

SIPs booked amount to Rs. 7 lakh, of which we have set aside 5% i.e. Rs. 35,000. To this, we will add Rs. 16,000 from our company’s fund to donate Rs. 51,000/- to a Women’s Welfare Fund.

    Key success factors

We attribute our drive’s success to a focused approach, lucid explanations, continuous client engagement, timely follow-ups and teamwork.
