How father-son MFDs conducted a Holi special SIP drive

Chandigarh father son duo - Sandeep and Bhavesh Garg conducted a Holi-special drive and booked over 200 SIPs.

Sandeep and Bhavesh Garg from Chandigarh, Punjab celebrated Holi by conducting a SIP drive in which they booked over 200 SIPs in a single day on March 17, 2022.

Let us hear their story from them:

    Designing the drive

Holi marks the celebration of the triumph of good over evil. When you correlate this with mutual funds, MF investment portfolio with diversified portfolio can beat volatile market.

With this in mind, we decided to conduct a drive focusing on diversification. And, since our existing clients do not have exposure to sectoral funds, we focused on diversifying across multiple sectors.

The drive was conducted for clients having very high-risk appetite and long term investment horizon. We identified ABCDE sectors - automobile, banking, consumer, domestic (manufacturing) and emerging sectors and urged our clients to invest in them through SIPs for better diversification.

    Spreading the word

We picked up the first letter from each sector’s name and came up with the concept of ‘ABCDE Fund Bucket’. This  generated interest among our clients.

Next, we made a poster by using some text, a hashtag and a tagline. Limited text makes the poster easy to read, hashtags expand its online reach and taglines stay in investors’ mind.

We shared this poster with a hyperlink through WhatsApp, e-mail and social media. The link took the readers to the landing page which had additional details.

    Executing the drive

Over the last few weeks, thanks to our interesting communication style, we received multiple queries from many existing clients.  My father and I met many clients physically over the next few days to urge them to diversify investment across sectoral schemes.

Overall, 43 investors invested through this drive, where each investor booked one SIP in each of the five sectors. The total SIPs booked were 215 which amounted to Rs. 3.30 lakh.
