Lucknow MFD Roopesh Jaitly has conducted a SIP drive focusing on first-time earners. He has reached out to over 100 such investors and acquired 35 of them.
Let us understand how he conducted this SIP drive.
Reaching out to a large organisation
During a casual conversation with one of my clients, I learnt that his company recently conducted a mass recruitment drive and hired over 100 freshers. He works with a software company with an employee strength of 300 plus. I sensed an opportunity and requested my client to help me schedule a meeting with the HR team. I submitted a written request and completed all necessary formalities for conducting a seminar at their office premise.
Conducting IAPs in batches
Considering the large audience, I divided them into three batches. The idea was to give personal attention to each prospective client.
I planned my session by keeping in mind these five points - schedule, participant sheet, presentation, KYC registration and QnA session.
- The schedule - I chose Saturday as employees usually have a lower workload on these days. Also, keeping in mind the human attention span, I planned a crisp 30-min programme
- Participant sheet - My team jotted down the name, email-id and mobile number of every participant. This helped in creating an authentic database
- Presentation - The IAP was designed on the concept of ‘First Salary First Investment’. I explained to them the importance of early investing with the help of real-life case studies and testimonials of a few clients. Also, a mix of audio-visual tools grabbed participants’ attention
- KYC registration - My team completed KYC procedure immediately for interested participants.
- QnA session - At the end of the session, the floor was kept open for the QnA session. I gave equal attention to every question and engaged in one-to-one discussions later
Post IAP, I stayed in regular touch with the participants through WhatsApp.
Closing the drive successfully
The drive saw participation from 35 first-time earners. As I promoted the drive on my social media handles, 7 other first-time investors and 33 existing clients also invested through this drive. We registered 102 SIPs amounting to Rs. 3.60 lakh.
Roopesh’s drive had an interesting theme and a well-planned approach. Like him, have you also conducted a SIP drive recently? Wouldn’t you like to share it with your industry friends and peers?
