MFD Munnavar Khan of Vision Invest Tech and KGN Social Foundation organised two tree plantation drives on July 1, 2022 and July 3, 2022 at Swarna Jayanti Park in Bhopal.
Talking about these drives, Munnavar said, “This is our contribution to create a healthy environment and conserve it for future generations. And given that the monsoons are here, it was the most appropriate time to execute these drives.”
Munnavar and his team from KGN Social Foundation purchased peepal, neem and other top oxygen-producing plants from Forest Government Nursery. He met the cost of saplings with the help of Kotak Mutual Fund. “The fund house sponsored these drives and Shailendra Singh Solanki of Kotak MF has played an instrumental role in this initiative”, said Munnavar.
While 70 college students participated in the first drive, 40 volunteers including MFDs, MF officials and their families planted saplings in the second drive.
The volunteers planted 400 saplings in an enclosed set up in the park and will look after them with the help of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation. Munnavar has also pledged to plant more 600 plants in the coming days along with MFD friends.
Interestingly, Munnavar conducted a similar drive last year and planted 400 plants at Bhopal Airport.
