Suresh Mohta recently attended a workshop organized by ICICI Pru Mutual Fund on how to connect with clients virtually. “I feel after attending this workshop there is no geographical boundary to expand my clientele. We always thought that a client needs the personal presence of the advisor to be able to share his financial issues. But this cloud software has broken all such notions,” said Suresh.
The IFAs were also taught to professionally present their services to clients over video conference using cloud software.”It has also made me realize the importance of presentation and enhanced my presentation skills,” he added.
Now, Suresh is very confident of expanding his client base to all geographies. He is happy about the fact that he does not need to turn down clients who require his service outside Kolkata.
The AMC has also provided the software to IFAs for utilization.
Pradip Agarwal, another IFA from Kolkata gives his success credit to the LIC branch manager who motivated him at a time when he needed it.
In 2000, Pradip had hit a rough patch in his business and was struggling when he learnt about this LIC workshop that was meant to build confidence among distributors. Mithilesh Chakarborty, the branch head of LIC during that those days conducted this workshop to help the agents in business expansion.
During the seminar, he told the insurance advisors that ‘Excellence is nobody’s monopoly’. This line inspired Pradip. His hour long lecture citing examples of successful advisors motivated Pradip.
“The examples that Mithilesh gave made me realize the fact that I was not less skilled than those successful IFAs. He showed the path of success and the very next year I qualified for MDRT membership. I have been its member 13 years in a row.”
Today, Pradip does not get lose morale in any market situation. Instead, he tries to modify the business according to prevailing environment. He says that he will always be grateful to Mithilesh for conducting the workshop at a time when he needed someone to motivate him.
