MFDs/RIAs are often called Saarthi (Lord Krishna) due to their integral role in investors’ financial life. While many MFDs/RIAs work very hard to help their clients achieve financial freedom, they hardly get time to learn life lessons. And who is better than the Lord Krishna for life lessons.

We bring to you the top 10 life lessons from Lord Krishna. Let us look at them:

    • Our body is temporary and we should use it to protect basic principles of life like helping others, protecting the vulnerable and so on
    • Death is transactional – it changes from one body to another. So, don’t unnecessarily worry about life and death
    • Remember, our soul is immortal and it is very powerful and inherently knowledgeable
    • Whatever you do, do it with focus, skill and perfection though result is not in your hand
    • Mind is our friend as well as foe. It generates both positive and negative thoughts and most of the time it could be the latter. We should learn to control it and act intelligently
    • Inherently, human beings have three inherent qualities – Sat Guna (purity and calmness), Rajo Guna (active and arrogance) and Tamo Guna (lazy and ignorant). Each individual has these qualities in different proportion. Balancing all these qualities is crucial to lead a wonderful life
    • All of us are equal and unique. We all are at different stages of consciousness on path of realizing that all of us are one entity
    • We may attain spirituality through Karma Yog (doing your work diligently), Jnana Yog (inculcating positivity and practising equality), Bhakti Yog (emotionally attached to all beings) and Dhyan Yog (controlling mind and senses to not hurt anyone)
    • Make decisions only when you are calm and composed. Avoid making any decision when you are excited, angry or upset
    • Focus on Karma (Your work) and fight for upholding life principles
