At Cafemutual Ideas Fest (CIF) 2023, Happiness Coach, Raj Raghunathan, Professor of Business at The University of Texas at Austin shared with us reasons to encourage happiness at workplace.

Raj said providing a happy workplace enhances the productivity of the organization. And the productivity automatically translates into profitability.

Here are the top three reasons on why you should invest in creating happiness at workplace:
    1. Happier employees promote productivity and profitability
Happier employees are healthier, so they tend to take fewer sick leaves and show up for work more often. This can improve the productivity of an organization. In fact, a study done in US shows that employees who are not happy at workplace take at least 16 more leave than employees who are happy at workplace.

    2. Happier employees work better in teams
Happier employees are easier to deal with and they get along better with others in a team. They can give constructive criticism to their team members and this can increase the efficiency of work and tasks. Also, when team members get along well with one another, it helps in getting work done effectively and easily. They show higher morale in the team, they share more information with each other.

    3. Happier employees are more creative
Happier employees can bring fresh and logical ideas to the table. When they are in a good and happy mood they tend to think on a task with positive mindset and vice versa. Happier employees seem to explore new ideas more often and come up with something unique.
