    Investment Adviser Certification Examination (Level 2)

    The course is meant for those who register with SEBI as Investment Advisers and has already cleared NISM-Series-X-B: Investment Adviser (Level 1) certification.

    Who should appear for this certification?

    The certification is meant for those who register with SEBI as Investment Advisers and for representatives of advisers who offer advisory service. Advisers are required to clear two levels of examinations as per the requirements of SEBI (Investment Adviser) Regulation 2013. Only those candidates who have cleared NISM-Series-X-B: Investment Adviser (Level 1) can appear in this exam.

    Earlier, SEBI has mandated that an investment adviser should require passing both the levels i.e. NISM-Series-X-A: Investment Adviser (Level 1) Certification Examination and NISM-Series-X-B: Investment Adviser (Level 2) Certification Examination to comply with SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013.

    Is this course mandatory for CFP certificants?

    Only those CFP certified investment advisers and associated persons who were completed their CFP on or before February 27, 2014 are exempt from appearing in Investment adviser level 1 and level 2.

    Which institute/body conducts the test?

    The certification is given by National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM).

    How can you register for this test?

    You can register for this course either on NSE, BSE or MCX website by creating your account. Once you pay the fee and select an examination date you will be sent a soft copy of the course material on your registered email address.

    When do you get the results?

    The test is given online and you can see the results immediately. NISM delivers the certificate to your mailing address.

    What does the program cover?

    The course covers areas like securities markets and performance, operational aspects of financial transaction, personal financial planning, comprehensive financial planning, product analysis and selection, regulatory and compliance aspects and case studies in comprehensive financial advice. Besides, it will give insights on importance of asset allocation and impact of the market movement on assets performance, portfolio construction, review and rebalancing based on clients need.
