Essel Finance Mutual Fund has appointed Saravana Kumar as the new CIO, said a company press release.
Prior to Essel MF, Kumar was the CIO of LIC Mutual Fund. He has also worked with ICICI Bank, SBI Mutual Fund and UTI Mutual Fund.
An MBA from IIM Bangalore, Kumar has successfully completed the management development programme (MDP) programme on global financial markets at Merrill Lynch Global.
It is pertinent to mention here that SREI Infrastructure will buy Essel Finance Mutual Fund subject to regulatory approval. SREI Infrastructure is already into Infrastructure Debt Fund (IDF) business and has AIF, insurance broking and infrastructure financing business.
As of April 2019, Essel MF manages AUM of Rs.1,052 crore.
