Recent AMFI data shows that the average ticket size across four categories of investors- retail, HNIs, corporates and institutions has slipped compared to last year.
The average ticket size of HNIs fell 46% to Rs.8.4 lakh from Rs.15.7 lakh while those of corporates came down by nearly 37% to Rs.1.3 crore from over Rs.2 crore.
The average ticket size of institutions also witnessed a drop as it fell to Rs.8.6 crore from Rs.10.4 crore last year.
Interestingly, the data on folio count showed that the MF industry has added nearly 770,000 new folios till September this year. This shows an increase of nearly 10% to 8.56 crore to 7.79 crore.
Liquid schemes posted a fall in their average ticket size to Rs.22.4 lakh while that in debt schemes almost doubled to Rs.14.7 lakh.
The average ticket size of ETFs and funds of funds also saw an increase of nearly 16% as it rose Rs.9.2 lakh from Rs.7.9 lakh.
