    SBI, HDFC and ICICI Prudential have a strong foothold in B30 cities

    In percentage terms, Union MF takes the lead as it derived 30% of its total monthly average AUM from B-30 cities.

    An analysis of June 2023 monthly average AUM shows that SBI MF is the only fund house to have a B30 asset base of over Rs 1 lakh crore. It manages Rs 1.62 lakh crore and occupies the first spot in terms of B30 average AUM.

    HDFC MF and ICICI Prudential MF occupy the next two spots. Both these fund houses have a B30 asset base of over Rs 80,000 crore.

    Next in line are Nippon India MF and UTI MF, which respectively manage Rs 63,000 crore and Rs 57,000 crore.

    The numbers depict the strong foothold of these fund houses in B30 cities.

    Further, Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, Axis MF, Kotak MF, Tata MF and Mirae Asset MF secured a spot in the top-10 list in the said order. 

    However, in percentage terms, Union MF took the lead as it derived 30% of its total monthly average AUM from B-30 cities. Mahindra Manulife MF and quant MF derived the next highest share of 25% each. In totality, ten fund houses have over 20% of their assets in B30 cities.

    Overall, of the total monthly average AUM of Rs 44.62 lakh crore, the top 30 fund houses (in terms of June 2023 quarterly average AUM) have 17% or Rs 7.55 lakh crore in B30 cities.
