November ended positively for the MF industry. The MF industry added 4.50 lakh new investors taking the total investors count to 4.13 crore in November 2023.
Also, the AUM of the MF industry reached close to Rs.49 lakh crore. Let’s take a look at the key highlights of November month:
Folio count
The industry added 21.68 lakh new folios, bringing the total folio count to 16.18 crore
The industry had 15.96 crore folios in October 2023
T30 and B30 assets
Of the total AUM of Rs. 49 lakh crore, 82% of the total MF assets or Rs.40 lakh crore came from T-30 locations
B30 cities account for 18% of the total MF assets or Rs.9 lakh crore
Average AUM per folio
The average AUM per folio of retail investors is Rs.1.85 lakh. Overall, the MF industry has an average AUM per folio of Rs.3.03 lakh
Further, the average AUM per folio of retail investors in B30 is Rs.1.04 lakh and Rs.2.51 lakh in T30 cities
SIP accounts
The MF industry added close to 31 lakh new SIP accounts in November 2023. However, the industry saw a discontinuation of 16.69 lakh SIP accounts
Total number of SIP folios stands at 7.44 crore. Of the total SIP accounts, 83% were in equity schemes
ARN/EUIN registration and renewal
Over 3,400 distributors joined the MF industry of which 1,803 were individual MFDs
In terms of total count, the top contributors are Maharashtra which accounts for 28.54%, Gujarat 9.49%, Uttar Pradesh 8.01% and Karnataka 5.92%.
In terms of ARN renewal, close to 3,000 distributors have renewed their ARN. Among them, 989 were corporate employees and 1910 were individual MFDs
