AMFI data shows the MF industry received Rs.64,000 crore from 212 NFOs launched during the calendar year 2023. In 2022, the MF industry launched 228 NFOs and mobilized Rs.62,000 crore.
In terms of asset classes, the MF industry received Rs.37,000 crore from 51 equity NFOs. Within equity, sectoral/thematic funds collected Rs.18,000 crore through 28 NFOs, the highest among all equity fund categories. Next, multi cap funds collected Rs.4,500 crore through 5 NFOs while dividend yield fund collected Rs.3,500 crore through 1 NFO. In 2022, 27 equity NFOs raised Rs.30,000 crore.
Further, the MF industry raised Rs.12,000 crore through 54 debt fund NFOs in 2023 compared to Rs.15,000 crore through 64 debt fund NFOs in 2022. Among debt fund categories, close-ended fixed maturity plan raised Rs.8,200 crore through 44 NFOs.
In hybrid category, 15 NFOs mobilized Rs.11,000 crore in 2023 as against Rs.2800 crore through 5 NFOs during 2022. Multi asset allocation fund mobilized the highest inflows of Rs.6,500 crore through 6 NFOs among all hybrid fund categories. Dynamic asset allocation/balanced advantage fund collected Rs.3,900 crore through 5 NFOs and aggressive hybrid fund raised Rs.440 crore through 2 NFOs.
Among passives, 90 NFOs collected Rs.3,600 crore in 2023 as against Rs.15,000 crore through 131 NFOs in 2022. While index funds raised Rs.2,700 crore through 53 NFOs, other ETFs raised Rs.590 crore through 28 NFOs.
