    PPFAS MF, SBI MF and Axis MF have the highest cash holding

    The top 20 fund houses have Rs. 2.42 lakh crore in cash.

    A report by Motilal Oswal Financial Services shows that PPFAS MF, SBI MF and Axis MF have the highest cash holding among the top 20 fund houses.

    PPFAS MF has the highest cash holding of 21.1% of its equity value. SBI MF is second in the ranking with 8.3% of its equity value in cash. Axis MF has the third highest cash holding in percentage terms of 7.9%.

    Bandhan MF and HDFC MF complete the top five with cash holding of 7.7% and 7.5%, respectively.

    Other fund houses with high cash holding in percentage terms include Motilal Oswal MF, Quant MF, ICICI Prudential MF, Tata MF and DSP MF.

    In terms of absolute cash value, SBI has the highest cash holding of Rs. 63,800 crore. ICICI Prudential MF is second with cash holding of Rs. 35,300 crore. HDFC MF is next in the ranking with cash holding of Rs. 35,000 crore. Axis MF and PPFAS MF also have high cash value of Rs. 15,000 crore and Rs. 13,250 crore, respectively.

    Other fund houses with high cash value in absolute terms include Nippon India MF, Kotak MF, UTI MF, DSP MF and Tata MF.
