Budget 2016 may offer sops for long-term equity investments: Jayant Sinha

Capital markets could get a big boost in the Union Budget for 2016-17, with the Narendra Modi government contemplating measures to channelise domestic savings into high-quality equity and debt investments.

The government is mulling fresh incentives for longterm investments in the equity markets as it readies to present its third Budget next month, Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha told ET in an interview.
