    Harshendu Bindal to move US to head Franklin Templeton’s global retail business

    Harshendu will be replaced by Sanjay Sapre who will take over as President of Franklin Templeton’s India business.

    Franklin Templeton has elevated Vivek Kudva as the new Managing Director for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (EMEA & India). Following a strategic review of its international business, the fund house is combining Europe and Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa (CEEMEA) as well as its India businesses into one distinct region, said a note send by the fund house.

    Vivek will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to the firm’s businesses in EMEA as well as India, said FT. He has been with FT for more than ten years now. Vivek will be based in Mumbai.

    Meanwhile, Harshendu Bindal has been appointed as Managing Director, Channel Head – Retail for Franklin Templeton’s International business. Due to the global nature of his new role, he will be relocating to the firm’s global headquarters in San Mateo, California. Harshendu has led Franklin Templeton’s India business for the last seven years.

    Harshendu will be replaced by Sanjay Sapre who will take over as President of Franklin Templeton’s India business. Prior to taking on this new role, he was Senior Vice President, Global Transfer Agency Customer Operations and Customer Service Asia Pacific. He joined FT in 2001.

    FT is the seventh largest fund house which manages an AUM of Rs. 66,947 crore.
