The budget for the month long campaign is Rs 8 crore
Mumbai: The much awaited AMFI campaign which aims to demystify mutual funds will run for a period of four to five weeks starting from Monday. The budget is estimated to be Rs 8 crore according to AMFI.
The release of commercials was put on hold earlier due to IPL and world cup matches. Now AMFI hopes to get maximum eyeballs as there are no major ‘events’ that could distract attention.
The campaign aims to generate awareness about mutual funds as a safe long term investment avenue. AMFI is also setting up a call centre to handle queries from people.
So far fund houses have been advertising their funds on television channels. This is the first industry initiative to promote mutual funds in India.
