Keeping in mind the current health crisis in the country, the Ministry of Home Affairs has asked all organization, employers and establishments irrespective of their size and nature to provide health insurance to their employees.
In its latest circular, IRDAI said that the government has made it mandatory for all the industrial and commercial establishments to put in place a standard operating procedure and medical insurance for the workers.
IRDAI has asked general and standalone health insurance companies to offer comprehensive health insurance policies to employers at an affordable cost. The insurance regulator has further asked insurance companies to devise health policies with simple wordings and condition.
Further, IRDAI has clarified that this policy will not be specific for covid19 cases but for all health conditions.
