Three candidates were shortlisted for replacing Mathur.

Ashok Shah - Life Insurance Corporation North India Head will replace S B Mathur as Secretary General, Life Insurance Council from next month.

The three shortlisted candidates were – Kamaljit Sahay, MD & CEO at Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance Co. Ltd, Ashok Shah - Life Insurance Corporation North India Head and Manicken - an ex-Life Insurance Corporation employee.

In the Council Board meeting on 7^th August, a decision was taken to replace S B Mathur with Ashok Shah.
