IRDAI has asked insurance companies to expedite cashless claim settlement procedure of covid claims.
In fact, IRDAI has asked insurance companies to settle covid related cashless claims within 60 minutes of receipt of claim request.
This has come after Delhi High Court has advised IRDAI to direct insurance companies to expedite covid related cashless claim settlement so that exiting patients can be discharged and new patients can get beds.
IRDAI clarified that insurance companies will have to communicate their decision on covid claim requests to network hospital within one hour of receipt of the final bill.
