Go Digit General Insurance will soon foray into the Rs.59 lakh crore life insurance industry.
IRDAI has given go ahead to the company to launch life insurance business. In a circular, IRDAI said, “Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) in its 122nd meeting held on 02nd June, 2023 has granted Certificate of Registration to a new life insurer namely, Go Digit Life Insurance Limited to carry life insurance business in India.”
With this, the number of life insurers will go to 26.
This is the fourth registration granted by IRDAI in the last one year in life and non-life segment. Earlier, the regulator has granted license to Acko Life, Credit Access Life and Kshema General.
IRDAi said that it is reviewing applications of 19 more players.
