IRDAI has asked insurance companies to declare NAV every quarter of units of AIFs in which they have invested their corpus.

Insurance companies are allowed to invest in category I and category II AIFs.

Further, the insurance regulator has asked insurers to obtain approval from their board or investment committee if they wish to opt for rollover of investments in AIFs.

Also, insurers will also have to disclose returns from AIF investments every quarter.
