Jalgaon MFD Sawariya Oza’s life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. He came to know about his disease during a regular health checkup in 2022.
The news came as a shock to 37-year-old Sawariya as he has never consumed alcohol or smoked cigarettes. Also, he did not have any obvious symptom of the disease.
Thankfully, Sawariya, who handles 1700+ clients with assets of 85 crore, underwent a successful kidney transplant on November 28, 2022. His sister-in-law donated her kidney. The entire procedure took eight months.
While his partner looked after the business in his absence, his existing clients remained supportive throughout the treatment.
Talking to Cafemutual, Sawariya said that his family members, friends and clients motivated him to overcome the disease. He also drew inspiration from his partner’s wife who overcame breast cancer at a very young age. Also, he kept himself motivated by reading Bhagavad Gita and other spiritual books.
Here are a few learnings from Sawariya’s battle:
- Be positive: Despite suffering from life-threatening disease, Sawariya remained positive and determined to overcome his illness. Even Lord Krishna says mind is our friend as well as foe. It generates both positive and negative thoughts and most of the time it could be the latter. We should learn to control it and act intelligently
- Earn people not money: Sawariya's family, friends and clients were a great source of support for him throughout his illness. Their encouragement and positivity encouraged him to stay strong and motivated
