Thane MFD Sandeep Baravkar of SRS Financial Services conducted a SIP drive in which over 186 clients executed 280 new SIPs.
What sets apart this drive is that the drive was dedicated to the World Environment Day observed on June 5 wherein the distribution firm decided to plant a sapling for every client who participated in the SIP drive.
Sandeep told Cafemutual that his colleague Mahesh Reddy came up with this concept of doing SIP drive for environment. He said, “We approached our existing client of base over 2000 clients through broadcast posts. These posts carried messages like, ‘Start a SIP on World Environment Day and we will plant a tree on your behalf’ and ‘We encourage you to take a step further towards securing your financial future by starting another SIP, while also contributing to a greener planet.’
Overall, the team started this activity on May 19 through multiple calls and meetings. Around 50 new clients participated in the SIP to do their bit for environment. Many of them are millennials, said Sandeep.
Sandeep further said that the saplings will be planted on behalf of investors. In fact, the distribution firm tied up with an agency to plant a sapling on behalf of the investor.
After the plantation, the investor will receive an eCertificate from SRS Financial Services. The distribution firm will bear the cost of plantation of saplings.
