Lucknow MFD Amit Kumar Makhija of Simplinvest Financial Services recently trekked to the Everest Base Camp to promote the ‘Mutual Fund Sahi Hai’ campaign.
Interestingly, this was Amit’s first trek. It took 14 days for Amit to reach an altitude of 5,364 meters or over 17,500 feet. As a mark of respect, he hoisted the Indian Flag along with the ‘Mutual Fund Sahi Hai’ banner.
Amit said, “I am always grateful to my motherland which beautifully embraces diversity and gives everyone an equal opportunity to prosper. Likewise, I am equally grateful to the noble profession of mutual fund distribution which gives ample opportunities to succeed and a visible revenue stream. Also, the ‘Mutual Fund Sahi Hai’ campaign has created demand for mutual funds among people and helped MFDs like me to keep growing.”
Amit added, “The pandemic was tough on many but the trail commission kept the show going and we MFDs could look after our family and other commitments.”
While sharing his experience, Amit also drew analogies between the trek and mutual funds. He said, “Trekking is an adventurous sport. Long and disciplined training schedules, patience and Sherpa’s (group leader) guidance are essential for its success. Likewise, wealth creation is a long term journey which requires discipline, patience and distributors’ handholding to navigate through the market volatility and achieve financial aspirations.”
