    Two small town IFAs put up big SIP show

    While Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh IFA Rajeev Bharti executed 500 SIPs, another IFA from Kutch, Gujarat, Hitesh Gadhvi registered 175 SIPs in a single day.

    Success stories of other IFAs achieving high SIP numbers on Cafemutual inspired Shahjahanpur IFA Rajeev Bharti and Kutch IFA Hitesh Gadhvi to conduct successful SIP drives.

    IFA Rajeev Bharti activated 557 SIPs in a single day on January 20 while Hitesh Gadhvi from Kutch registered 175 SIPs on January 1. 

    Let us look at their stories.

    People make new year resolutions for many things, including investments. This new year my SIP drive succeeded because the new year resolution push helped me convince existing and new clients to start SIPs to achieve financial freedom. Initially, my target was 500 SIPs in a single day. However, I managed to bring 557 SIPs amounting to Rs.9.80 lakh in a single day thanks to the articles that I read on Cafemutual. Here is how I did it:

     

    • I started my planning two months prior to the date of the SIP drive
    • Approached 50 existing clients every week through face-to-face meetings and phone calls and told them about the SIP drive
    • Asked for referrals from existing clients and met the referred parties personally
    • Shared how their friends/family members (who gave his referrals) achieved financial goals
    • Highlighted the importance of goal based investment through SIPs
    • Conducted IAPs in factories and companies to acquire new clients and opened zero folio accounts to ensure conversion
    • Followed up with them and encouraged them to start SIP with small amounts

    Hitesh Gadhvi, Tagore Investment, Kutch

    Since this was my first attempt, I aimed to do 150 SIPs. However, I was able to register 175 SIPs amounting to Rs.3.73 lakh in a single day. Here is how I managed it.

    • Made a list of clients who do not have SIPs one month prior to the SIP drive
    • Met at least 8 clients a day personally to explain to them the benefits of SIPs
    • Conducted IAPs for prospective clients through referrals and highlighted how they could achieve their financial goals through SIP of Rs.1000 in the long term
    • Shared stories of clients who had achieved their financial goals through SIPs
    • Highlighted benefits of investing in mutual funds compared to other financial products like FDs
    • Ran a social media campaign to resolve queries related to mutual funds
    • One of my colleagues actively responded to all queries on Facebook and WhatsApp and generated leads

    We followed up with them to encourage them to start SIP. Got 15 new clients in the process

    It seems only the distributors are making money. Most funds have under performed during 2014-2019 period.
