Nagpur MFD Prasad Fadnavis of Ved Fortune Vision recently organized an SIP drive in which over 200 investors started close to 320 new SIPs. Interestingly, the MFD implanted 5 saplings per investor i.e. 1000 saplings on behalf of clients in a village called Ajandoh situated in Wardha, Maharashtra.
Sharing the rationale, Prasad Fadnavis said that the major reason of global warming and climate change is cutting of trees. “We cut more trees than plant new ones. Hence, we decided to encourage people to plant more trees. And the concept of SIP and tree plantation is similar. Both take time to yield fruit.”
Fadnavis carried out a few investor education programs and approached his existing clients who had not increased their SIPs for two years. In these sessions and meetings, he took them through the benefits of SIPs and encouraged them to do their bit for the environment by planting trees.
Overall, of the 200 investors participated in the SIP for tree drive, 45 were new to the MF industry.
The MFD spent Rs.90,000 on this activity on his own. He currently manages an AUM of Rs 217 crore for 2,400 clients.
