Theme
SIP for retirement was the theme of SIP drive. Giving a theme to SIP drive gives clarity to investors on why they should start SIP.
Planning
To begin with, I identified 70 prospective clients from referrals who were middle aged and salaried. I felt this category was more inclined to save for retirement.
To make them realise about the need to invest for retirement, I shared research reports and videos on retirement planning. For instance, I shared findings of a survey by SBI which showed that most people in our country would retire poor. So much so that many will not even have enough money to undergo cataract or knee surgery.
I also shared some videos on the impact of inflation on retirement and achieving retirement goals successfully. Many clients found these videos relatable and shared it among their friends and family members.
Overall, 46 investors participated in the SIP drive of which 40 were the first time investors.
Communication to assuage fears
I explained to them that the market is forward looking and Indian economy is at the forefront of opportunities in sectors like automobile, IT and pharmaceuticals. Hence, investing in these funds that have exposure to these sectors offers an attractive opportunity.
I also conducted a webinar to share market outlook with them and resolved their queries related to SIP for retirement.

Learnings
Successful SIP drive needs efficient communication strategy. Be it giving a theme to your SIP drive or interacting with clients, you have to be clear and focused on what you need to communicate.
