Diwali is synonymous with celebrations, family get together, sweets and buying gifts for your loved ones. Children love this festival as they get to wear new cloths, light firecrackers and so on.

When Munnavar Khan of Vision Advisory Services, Bhopal spotted children living in slums with no enthusiasm for Diwali, he decided to spread Diwali happiness by presenting new clothes to them.”

It all started during the nationwide lockdown when Khan distributed ration packets to underprivileged families. “I have been in touch with many underprivileged children ever since the lockdown. I can clearly see that there are many who are not excited about Diwali.” Seeing them unhappy, I decided to present them new clothes to make them happy this year.”

To collect funds for this noble cause, Khan and his MFD friend Partho Chakraborty reached out to many MFDs and AMC officials in Bhopal. As a result, they along with 13 MFDs and 25 AMC officials   collected Rs.75,000 for the cause. So far, they have gifed new clothes to over 350 children.

We at AP MFD welfare association, Vijayawada, had collected close to Rs.65000 from amongst ourselves. During April - June, we had got food packets prepared and distributed among the displaced and destitute during the lock down period. We were left with 16000 after this activity. Today we have donated it to distribute bedsheets to street dwellers..
