Agra’s financial advisor Shalab Gupta Bibhab of Bibhab Capital has won the prestigious Sanjeevani Award at Cafemutual Ideas Fest (CIF) 2022.
SBI Mutual Fund along with Cafemutual launched Sanjeevani Awards to recognise the selfless contributions of MFDs/RIAs in supporting people during the most challenging pandemic times.
Shalab has received Sanjeevani Awards for a host of activities. Let us look at them one-by-one.
Shalab has installed a Rs.12 lakh mammography machine in government hospital that can detect breast cancer.
Sharing the rationale, Shalab said, “Behind every endeavor is a story, sometimes it involves loss and insurmountable pain. Having lost my only sister, made me realize that despite having most privileges in life we could not save her but perhaps someone else with the ease of good care can escape terminal illness.”
“There are people that can’t afford good treatment and they lose out on the battle so this was the sole reason behind installing mammography machine at the hospital where people show up hoping for reasonable costs for the treatment that’s their beam of hope for survival,” Shalab said.
Shalab told Cafemutual that one in six women suffer from breast cancer and the disease can be cured easily if it is detected during early stage.
In addition, Shalab has been supporting an NGO that takes care of special children. He has been funding education of two underprivileged children.
Shalab told Cafemutual that he is blessed with a special child. He said, “God blessed us and graced us with the love of a special child and when I say that, I mean it because she is special in every way. Loving and nurturing her has taught us a lot as parents and it is also grooming us to become more aware as individuals. With good medical care and effort, we have been able to witness some never-thought miracles and we have hopes to see our daughter show more positive developments. For the happiness along the way of seeing her grow and also realizing that how pressing it can be at times for some without proper care or amenities, we decided to share the responsibility in terms of care and cost.”
Recently, Shalab travelled all the way from Agra to Bhopal to help a deceased client’s family deal with a challenging situation where he helped the family perform last rites and left three of his employees to take care of day-to-day work till all the rituals got over.
Shalab’s story is truly inspiring for us. He strongly believes in giving up back to the society.
Today, Shalab runs a successful advisory business with AUM of over Rs.1000 crore.
