Some heroes don’t wear a cap. Amid the stressful times of the pandemic, Nashik MFD Dhanesh Advani demonstrated extraordinary courage and created a difference in the lives of his client’s family.
Recognising this effort, SBI Mutual Fund along with Cafemutual bestowed on him Sanjeevani Awards which were launched to recognise the selfless contributions of MFDs/RIAs in supporting people during the most challenging pandemic times.
It all started when Dhanesh came to know about his client who suffered from the coronavirus and was not well.
Dhanesh immediately rushed to his client’s house and helped him get admitted to hospital. Unfortunately, his client lost his life after a few days and there was no one from family side to perform the last rites.
Dhanesh not only helped in clearing the discharge formalities but also conducted the final rites. Besides, he also helped the family obtain the death certificate and other important papers.
Sharing about the incidence, Dhanesh said, “During the second wave of covid, one of my senior citizen clients’ wife called me to seek support in hospitalization of her husband. Since both her son and daughter stay in US and could not travel due to covid restrictions, I managed to help the family with hospitalization. Unfortunately, the client could not survive and we received this message early in the morning. Soon after hearing the news, my son accompanied me to the hospital where we completed all formalities and claimed the body with lot of difficulties. We then performed his last rites and kept ourself in quarantine for a week.”
Dhanesh believes that it is duty of MFDs to go beyond boundaries and help clients in their difficult times.
Acknowledging the role of MFDs, Sandeep Sharma, EVP and National Head – Retail Sales, SBI Mutual Fund said that individual MFDs have a strong connect with clients. “Many people say that robo is the future. However, robo, in no way, can succeed individual MFDs. It is because of spirit of MFDs like Dhanesh, individual MFDs’ business will continue to prosper and overtake other distribution models with their empathy and support to clients.”
