    Avendus Capital launches private debt fund

    Private debt fund invest in bonds issued by unlisted companies having sound business model.

    Avendus Capital has launched its private debt fund called ‘Avendus Capital Structured Credit Fund’. Private debt fund fall under Category II of Alternative Investment Fund. They invest in bonds issued by unlisted companies having sound business model. Investors having moderate or low risk appetite invest in such funds.

    In a press release, the company has said that they aim to collect Rs.250 crore with an option to mop up another Rs.250 crore if issue is oversubscribed.

    Sandeep Thapliyal, MD & CEO, Avendus Finance and Nilesh Dedhi, Director, Aventus Finance will co-manage this fund.

    The fund will invest in structured credit products to holding and operating companies. It will invest in instruments yielding mid-teens returns and may look at participating in equity upside. Some of the preferred sectors are industrials, healthcare and consumer.

    In a press release, Thapliyal has said, “With this new fund, we are confident to strengthen our footprint in the alternative investment space. The fund will co-invest in transactions along with Avendus Finance. As a standard in every transaction NBFC will have a minimum 20% share providing additional comfort to investors on the quality of transactions being originated.”
