Raksha Bandan is the Indian festival that celebrates the love between siblings. On this day the sister ties a ceremonial Rakhi around her brother’s wrist. We got together with a few of our advisors and talked about the best memories of their childhood. Read on to see what these advisors learnt from their brothers.

Ï have a brother who is 4 years younger than me. Growing up, our childhood wasn’t easy with my dad's cancer. This is probably why I am at times over protective of my brother. We share a lot of memories; it is difficult to choose a favourite.
Amongst the two of us I am the more aggressive one. My brother is more balanced; he stays calm in any situation. This is something I admire about him. In fact, when I go off my handle, he is the only one who keeps me centred.

My brother is six years elder to me; he is more of a parent than a sibling to say the truth. In fact, my teachers used to call him instead of my parents to discuss my progress in school. Even today, I feel he is more of a mentor.
He had gone to the US by the time I was 13, so my childhood memories of him are from much younger days. I remember how he would scare me by pretending to be a ghost. He taught me to swim and he was always there for me.
Once in the US, my brother started his own chain of stores and was a millionaire by the time he was 26. Unfortunately, he lost everything and had to face problems with the revenue department of US government. Through his experience, I learnt that we must maintain a strong back office system for the sustenance of a business. My brother was busy expanding his business; he did not concentrate on the efficiency of his staff and back office team. He is currently in Goa and shuttles between US and India. I enjoy spending time with him, as he is a storehouse of knowledge.

I have two younger brothers. While one is just a year younger than me, the other one is eight years younger. While I have a typical sibling rivalry and fun with the older one, I have been more protective for my youngest brother. In fact, all through his childhood he was the centre of my world. When I got married, my youngest brother was the one who was most upset.
Growing up with two brothers, I have always felt at ease among men. In fact, in my initial days, I was the only woman in a sales team of fifty men in a telecom company, but that did not matter to me. I had to travel abroad for various meets with them. As an advisor too, my confidence while handling my clients comes from my formative years.
