The last few years have seen many wealthy investors taking exposure to alternative investment funds (AIFs). This increased demand has encouraged many fund houses to strengthen their existing AIF business.
In the latest example, Tata AMC has strengthened its portfolio management services (PMS) that will focus on a niche segment of clients through tailor-made portfolios.
Danesh Mistry, who used to manage a few sectoral funds for Tata MF will now build the PMS vertical for the fund house as Head - PMS.
Mistry has over 16 years of experience spread across fund management, equity research, mortgages and investment banking including private equity and capital markets. He has been with Tata MF for more than 9 years in the investment team starting as a research analyst and fund manager. He has also worked on developing the alternate investment platform as principal alternate investment fund.
Prior to this, Mistry was with HDFC and ENAM Securities. He is a graduate in commerce from HR College, Mumbai University and holds a post-graduate diploma in business administration from Indian Education Society Core Competence & Development Centre.
