AMFI report reveals that one in four MF investors is a woman. The Indian mutual fund industry has a total of 5.34 unique investors, out of which 1.38 crore are women investors in March 2025.
The share of women investors in the total unique investors has gone up to 25.73% in March 2025 compared to 24.20% in March 2024.
Here are other key highlights of the report:
- The women investors’ share in the total AUM of the industry has witnessed a steep rise of 147% between March 2019 to March 2024
- During this period, the AUM of women investors increased from Rs 4.59 lakh crore to Rs. 11.25 lakh crore
- The total AUM under the women investors is around 33% of the total individual assets under management
- The mutual fund industry has a total of 21.5% women MFDs compared to 78.5% of the male MFDs by the end of December 2024
- Out of these women MFDs, 13.4% come from top 5 states while next 10 states contribute 5.9% of the women MFDs and the remaining 2.3% come from the rest of the country
