In order to help distributors expedite the nomenclature change process, AMFI has issued a uniform non-objection certificate (NOC) for distributors applying for name change with ROC.
MFDs using nomenclature like advisor, IFA and wealth managers in their company name will have to submit their application for name change to the registrar of the company (ROC) and furnish documentary evidence before CAMS by October 31, 2020.
You can download this NOC by clicking here and take a print out to attach with the name change request letter to be sent to ROC.
While MFDs having private limited company have to file two e-forms with the ROC – e-form MGT-14 and e-form INC 24 within a period of 30 days from the date of passing of special resolution with ROC on MCA portal, MFDs with LLP structure need to file e-form 5 for notice of change in name with ROC within 30 days of approval of name.
Once you submit your request letter, ROC will issue you an acknowledgement receipt, which you need to furnish before CAMS.
Also, you will have to complete the change of registered name by December 31, 2020 by incorporating changes to PAN and updating name in AMFI records. You will have to submit ROC certificate and PAN card with the new name to AMFI by December 31.
