U K Sinha named the eighth Chairman of SEBI; to take charge after February 17
Mumbai: The government on Thursday appointed U K Sinha, the Chairman of UTI Mutual Fund, as the next Chairman of SEBI.
Sinha, a 1976 batch IAS officer from the Bihar cadre, will succeed C B Bhave, whose three-year term expires on February 17, 2011. Sinha is also the Chairman of AMFI.
Sinha has been appointed as SEBI Chairman for three years from the day he takes charge on or after February 18, 2011, or until he attains the age of 65 years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, according to a government statement.
