Of the total retail equity assets of Rs.6.36 lakh crore, Rs.3.51 lakh crore has stayed put for more than two years as on March 2021, shows the age-wise analysis of MF assets by AMFI.
AMFI has considered pure equity funds and ELSS for calculating retail equity AUM.
The increase in retail holding period is encouraging considering volatile equity markets due to the ongoing pandemic.
Meanwhile, the percentage of retail equity assets staying invested for one to two years and six months to one year has declined to 20% and 11%, respectively.
