    Top rated flexicap, multicap and ELSS funds

    PGIM India Flexicap fund and UTI Flexi Cap Fund are the best performing flexicap funds, according to latest rankings released by CRISIL Research.

    CRISIL Research has released its mutual fund scheme rankings for the June quarter. In the flexicap category, three schemes have made it to the top bracket — the CRISIL Fund Rank 1. Schemes which are 'very good performing' according to CRISIL find a place in the top slot.

    In the multicap space, only one fund has made it to Rank 1. In case of ELSS, four schemes have got the top rating.

    The ranking across categories including equity, debt and hybrid is based on the analysis of 474 funds, which account for 79% of total open-ended industry assets.

    Here's the complete list of flexicap, multicap and ELSS funds which have made it to the top bracket:

    Flexicap fund

    PGIM India Flexicap fund

    The fund has delivered benchmark beating returns in the 1-year, 3-year and 5-year periods. Its 3-year trailing return of 27% is much higher than the rise in the benchmark S&P BSE 500 TRI. In the 5-year period too, the return is on the higher side. Its 5-year trailing return is 19% compared to the category's average return of 15%.

    UTI Flexi Cap Fund

    UTI Flexicap features in the top category with 24% trailing return in the 3-year period. In the same time, the annualised growth in the benchmark was 18%. The fund's 5-year return is 19% as against the category average of 15%.

    Quant Active Fund

    The Quant Active Fund is the only scheme which has made to the top slot in the multicap category. The fund has delivered 31% annualised return in the last 3 years. In the same period, the S&P BSE 500 TRI registered a yearly growth of 18%. In the 5-year period, the fund has delivered a trailing return of 23%.

    BOI AXA Tax Advantage Fund

    This fund is among the four schemes in Crisil Research's top bracket. Its 3-year performance is among the best in the category at 25%. During the same period, the average return of the category is 17% and that of the benchmark is 18%.

    Canara Robeco Equity Tax Saver

    The scheme is in the Rank 1 category for at least the last two quarters. The trailing return in the 3-year and 5-year periods is 23% and 18% respectively. The annualised growth in benchmark during the same periods is 18% and 16%.

    IDFC Tax Advantage Fund

    The fund moved to the top bracket from Rank 2 category. Its 3-year trailing return is slightly higher than the benchmark at 18.5%. A similar outperformance is seen in the 5-year period. The fund delivered annualised return of 17% during the 5-year period as compared to 16% growth in the benchmark.

    Quant Tax Plan

    The fund has been a consistent outperformer. The return delivered by the scheme in the 1-year, 3-year and 5-year periods is highest in the category. In the 3-year period, the fund has delivered trailing return of 31%.
