    Top stocks mutual funds bought and sold in January

    Havells India and Vedanta see highest buying interest from MFs in largecap space, Indus Towers and HDFC AMC were the top largecap sells in January.

    Havells India, Vedanta and Interglobe Aviation were the top three buys of mutual funds in the largecap space in January. Piramal Enterprises and Apollo Hospitals were the other major largecap additions in MF portfolios.

    The market value of Havells India stock owned by mutual funds rose to Rs. 2,287 crore in January from Rs. 2,167 crore in December. Similarly, mutual funds' stake in Vedanta rose to Rs. 1,845 crore from Rs. 1,689 crore in the previous month.

    Indus Towers, HDFC AMC and SAIL topped the 'most sold largecaps' list. These stocks were followed by IRCTC, Zomato and JSW Steel.

    In the midcap segment, Bandhan Bank, Tata Communications and Aditya Birla Capital were the most in demand. The market value of Bandhan Bank stock owned by mutual funds rose to Rs. 1,394 crore in January from Rs. 825 crore in the previous month.

    On the other hand, GMR Infra, Bank of India and Colgate-Palmolive were the most sold midcap stocks.

    Rain Industries, Hindustan Copper and Indiabulls Housing Finance were the top buys in the smallcap space. The 'most sold smallcaps' list was topped by CE Info Systems, PTC India and Amara Raja Batteries.
