    Dilliwale have highest average AUM per folio at Rs.1.64 lakh

    Goa and Maharashtra follow Delhi with average assets per folio of Rs.1.40 lakh and Rs.1.31 lakh, respectively.

    People of Delhi, Goa and Maharashtra have the highest average AUM per folio. AMFI data shows that while Delhites have the highest average AUM per folio at Rs.1.64 lakh as on March 2022, Goa and Maharashtra have average assets per folio of Rs.1.40 lakh and Rs.1.31 lakh, respectively. 

    AMFI divides the total average AUM by the total number of folios to arrive at the average AUM per capita.

    Haryana and Karnataka followed the top three states with an average AUM per capita of Rs. 54,500 and Rs.39,710, respectively.   

    The next five in the top ten list are occupied by Gujarat (Rs. 38,150), Tamil Nadu (Rs. 21,170), West Bengal (Rs. 20,060), Sikkim (Rs. 19,260), and Telangana (Rs. 16,970). 

    In terms of percentage of average assets to the GDP of state, Maharashtra has topped the list with 61%. 

    New Delhi (38%), Goa (29%), Haryana (19%) and Gujarat (17%) followed Maharashtra. The average AUM to GDP ratio is total assets of a state divided by its GDP.

    Karnataka (15%), Jharkhand (11%), Tamil Nadu (9%), Uttar Pradesh (9%) and Meghalaya (8%) have the next highest GDP to average AUM ratio.
