KN Sivasubramanian, one of the most successful and best regarded fund managers in the country, has decided to step down from his role of Chief Investment Officer - Equities at Franklin Templeton MF after a stint of 20 years. Anand Radhakrishnan, Senior Vice President & Portfolio Manager Head of Portfolio Analytics will take over the charge of CIO from him.
Sivasubramanian has managed some of Franklin Templeton’s flagship schemes like Franklin India Prima Fund, Franklin India Bluechip Fund, Franklin India Flexi Cap Fund, Franklin India High Growth Fund and Franklin India Smaller Companies Fund.
Under his management, Franklin India Flexi Cap Fund and Franklin High Growth Fund have outperformed their benchmark over five year period as both schemes have given a CAGR of 21.25% and 23.06% respectively against 16.65% of their respective benchmark.
Sivasubramanian started his mutual fund career in 1994 as a portfolio manager with Kothari Pioneer which was later acquired by Franklin Templeton. Prior to this, Sivasubramanian was industrial finance officer at IDBI.
Sivasubramanian holds a postgraduate degree in management, specializing in finance and marketing from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, and a BE, specializing in mechanical engineering from REC, Jaipur.
After retirement, Sivasubramanian has decided to spend his time with family.
Siva had maintained one of the best track records in the Indian mutual fund industry and was widely admired for his sterling human qualities. His colleagues and peers remember for his simplicity, humility and warmth.
