    Individual investors hold 60% of the MF industry's assets

    Of the total assets of Rs.51 lakh crore, individual investors account for Rs.31 lakh crore.

    The assets held by individual investors in the MF industry have been increasing gradually.

    AMFI data shows that individual investors account for 60% of total MF assets in December 2023, compared to 59% in December 2022. Individual investors include both retail investors and HNIs.

    The data also shows that individual investors assets in mutual funds have increased by 30% to Rs. 31 lakh crore in December 2023 from Rs.23.50 lakh crore in December 2022.

    Overall, the mutual fund industry assets increased to Rs.51 lakh crore, an increase of 25% in December 2023 from Rs.41 lakh crore in December 2022.
