HERitage Survey released by Waterfield Advisors on HNI women shows that 21% HNI women actively seek wealth managers for money management.
Further, 41% HNI women have broad understanding of investments and are re-evaluating wealth management partners. 23% are highly aware of investments and 15% are not involved in investments.
These women corporate professionals, entrepreneurs and self-employed.
Other key highlights from the report:
- 95% women are open to investing in multiple asset classes. Most women invest in equity (61.9%) followed by gold (54.3%) and real estate (41%). There is also a significant interest towards alternative investments (35.2%), which finds as many takers as debt funds (35.2%)
- Only 16% women perceive themselves as strongly risk-taking, while 58% regard themselves as risk-averse. Out of this, 54% women who are entrepreneurs have the risk-taking mindset whereas 84% self-employed women are the most risk averse
- Older women have a stronger participation in investment decisions in family than younger women.
- Professionally, women who are entrepreneurs (69%) and self-employed professionals (57%) have a stronger participation in family investment decisions than homemakers (25%) and corporate professionals (38%)
- The moderate satisfaction with existing wealth managers persists across all professions
- More than 80% of the respondents show a strong belief in the need for dedicated wealth management for women in India
Note: A total of 104 women from Tier- 1 Indian cities, whose net worth is above Rs 10 crore were surveyed for the analysis.
