The market regulator’s data shows that the allocation to government securities is Rs. 4.13 lakh crore, constituting about 20% of the total allocation in debt securities.

Among other categories with major allocation are PSU bonds, CBLO (Collateralized Borrowing and Lending Obligation) and treasury bills that constitute 13%, 10% and 7% of debt allocation, respectively.

When it comes to allocation based on maturity period, the allocation in securities with maturity period less than 90 days is Rs. 8.19 lakh crore, about 40% of the total allocation. The allocation in securities with maturity period between 90 to 182 days is Rs. 89000 crore, about 11% of the total allocation.
